He has 20 other sponsors so maybe he's not too desperate, maybe Ellsworth have had some reinvestment, are relaunching and offered a good deal.
He's got 40k+ followers on instagram and retired from seious international racing before the whole social media coverage of riders really took off.
He also probably still gets alot of coverage in the US.
Be interesting to see what Ellsworth bring out over the next couple of years with his experience.
Why desperation? He is getting paid to ride bikes (which he isn't paying for)...
