Got me a new fangled HD device to replace my old helmet cam setup.
First go with it: http://www.mountainbikerides.co.uk/blog/?p=384
looking good - I am thinking of getting the same.
What s/w did you use to edit?
Sony Vegas Platinum Pro.
Only trouble I have is I now need a better PC to handle HD editing from this and my new HD camcorder a bit faster!
Great stuff - what's the music track?
Personally I prefer the chest-mount footage as you feel more immersed by seeing the handlebar action. Is it possible to point the camera further upwards when on the chest mount to capture a bit more of the trail?
£570 - ouch - must be good s/w.
is there something more budget available that works OK
sweet vid mate. very good quality.
cant place the trails though. gives us a clue
The trails are around Burnt Stump near Nottingham
thought so, look different with snow on them 😀
not been that way for a while, will have to check them out again soon

There's a whole range of Sony Vegas's (Vagii?) to suit most budgets/requirements. I used a trial of the cheap one and it's pretty good so far.

I've been recommended this free software but not had a chance to try it yet:

What memmory card are you using .
I have just got one and it wont work with my card.
trout - what speed is it? they're supposed to be at least speed '4' - not that I really know what that means, but I bought one that was a 2 first off.
I've been using Window Movie Maker to edit, which seems to work ok. I haven't tried the full HD yet as I think my computer would blow up. The biggest issue for me so far (and I'm far from IT literate) is how to convert the files into editable format without spending loads on software or visiting dodgy file sharing sites. A friend pointed me in the right direction and its now working fine, if a bit slow converting.
My first attempt is here www.vimeo.com/8506494 for what its worth. Took it to Cwmcarn at the weekend with the chest mount but it looks too low - if you flip the camera round you can tilt it upwards, but I then need to work out how to record upside down.... all good fun!!

Yes. Already planning that for next time. This was the first attempt.
