[#3863404]

On finding that my planned trip to CYB clashes with the gravity enduro I'm looking for other options and have always fancied riding Snowdon.
So how long should you allow to get up and down? Obviously this will vary hugely, but some ball park figures would be helpful.

Did you have much left in the tank to ride elsewhere afterwards?

2.5 hrs - about two hours up, thirty minutes for faffing at the top and the descent. Times based on Llanberis path as ascent and descent. Time goes up a lot if you start late - you really have to be up and down early.

It's a 2 hr walk up from my previous experience, the toure I went (can't remember which it was) would have been very hard to ride up... much less back down.

Took us about 2 hours to get up Llanberis and a lot less to get down Rangers! Just make sure you don't get carried away and miss the right turn back to Llanberis, as that bit of bridleway is so fun to get speed on, very easy to miss it 🙂

about 2 hours walk up sounds about right, but we descended the Telegraph Valley route(Rangers path) which is a bit more techy I'd say.

I didn't have that much left in the tank to be honest but I was trying to keep up with xc whippets...

2hrs up (Llanberis) and about 1.5hrs down (Rangers & Telegraph) with plenty of stops for us last year.

Yes we could have ridden more after.

I'm probably doing it solo the Monday before you btw, if the weather's not too grim.

I think it took us about 3.5 hours in all, up Llanberis and down Rangers, we did it on a stinking day though rain all the way up except for the top where it was snowing. Great fun though.

We are going up on 22/4 on our annual Snowdon ride. Up the llanberis is usually 2-3 hrs depending on stops for photos, rests etc. 1/2 hour on top for a coffee if the cafe is open, then a blast down the rangers/ telegraph trail. We usually give it a full morning...

Probably CyB and Penmachno, maybe bridleways from Capel Curig.

Staying 'til 29th but family joining me on the Monday so not sure how much I will get to ride.

Will give you a shout if I get a pass to ride that weekend.

Try not to fall off near the top of the Rangers and snap your back brake hose off. Walking all the way down with your bike isn't fast or fun 😐

Did it the other week the weather was amazing, but it was way too hot. Took me about 2.5 hours to walk up Llanberis, (knackered ankle) and about an hour to get down Rangers and Telegraph. Telegraph is brutal on tyres so many sharp water bars.

Isn't there something about Snowdon where is it off limits to mountain bikers at certain points in the year?
