...do I use Sram Powerlinks or KMC versions?
Some people on that internet tend to not use Sram on Shimano chains so wondered if I should use KMC on KMC...anyone had any breaking/popping links issues? Cheers
Any link on any chain. I use SRAM on Shimano chains all the time.
Depends on the use. SRAM only recommend the 10s PowerLOCK for use with SRAM 10s chains. I seem to remember that PowerLINK was available in different versions for Campag, Shimano and SRAM, but I might be wrong (and often am when it comes to memory!)
I use KMC (Shimano version) with Shimano
9 speed SRAM ones are reusable, but 10 speed ones aren't. KMC ones cost more, but are reusable. Ergo if it's 10 speed I'd use KMC ones, 9 speed I'd use SRAM.
Can't find a reference to SRAM PowerLink fitting other makes of chain; I must be thinking of the KMC Missing Link, there are versions for KMC, Campag, SRAM and Shimano
