sorry if it's been mentioned elsewhere but can you still cross the a57 at haggs farm and so on? can you still get to the visitors centre at ladybower? i'm staying up there for a few days from Saturday.

Only if you dig a tunnel with a tea spoon and spread the dirt from your lycra clad legs.

More importantly, can you ride a road bike up over to Glossop and back, mincing round fifty yards of roadworks and having a grand traffic free day out, or is the whole lot up?

Judging by the stream of cars coming back down on Sunday you must be able to get quite a way up for them all to park. Access to Fairholmes from the A57 & Sheff is fine.

Closed from the 1st, which was Monday.
Usually closes from the junction to Fairholmes.

Fancy a road ride bypassing the roadworks but am sure there may be one or two motorbikes doing an out and back too so eyes and ears peeled!

BBC post - why mention snow in June?! It's also sometimes closed for accidents or tarmacing. Weird.
