I've mailed Smudge, but I thought I'd ask you lot too as the font of all knowledge.
Which of the smudge batteries do I need for Lumi lights (which connector) and are they compatible with my exisiting Lumi charger (Li-Ion fast charger)?

you'll need 1 15v/14.4v Li-ion pack fitted with a 2.5mm DC and wired centre negative - if you tell Smudge it's for a Lumi lamp he'll sort it

Any of the 14.8 volt batteries and just tell Smudge its for a Lumi light and he will wire the correct connector on and the correct polarity .

What Trout said, in the order state it for a Lumi light and it will come wired the correct way with the right connector.
Well that is what i did and it worked.
