Missus has got into road riding and thought I might get her a bike mount, while there seems to be a plethora of options for iPhones (I guess there are some advantages to a rarely changed form factor) the Android choice seems rather more limited, any one found a good one? She's got a Motorola Razr i (pretty similar to iPhone 5 in size, maybe I could get away with using an iPhone case?)

I use one on the mtb and road bike. Keeps the phone out of harm's way off the handlebars. And is a lot cheaper then the bar-mount brackets.

I have a bar mount for my S3. It wasn't cheap, but it's very good - basically waterproof, touch screen works through the cover and very solid. I use it a lot with Osmand for an excellent GPS navigation / track following device.

I'll try to find which one I got and let you know.

I have a phone mount for my S2 from Here: http://www.buybits.com/Default.aspx £20, does a good job and still going after about 18 months but pretty hammered and held together with gaffa tape now, they'll do a mount to suit most phones, I reckon the Zip shut weather proof wallet types work best, takes a bit of searching to find the right one. an OK solution, but not stunning...

I also got one of these for the commuter: Bushwhacker Reno from the states took a couple of weeks to arrive and cost a wee bit to get posted, bulkier but about a billion times better than anything else I've used for the same job, carries tools, tubes and phone is easily accessed.

I also tried one of those top tube bags from ebay shown above, utter gash! Lasted 2 rides, straps fell apart, and even before that it kept flopping to the side and getting in the way... Avoid!

You're doing it wrong then. On and off-road, I've been using mine for about 2 years now and never had a problem.

This is the one I got. As I say, not cheap but can't fault it so far. The only thing that would be useful would be if there was a slot to plug in the micro USB so I could connect it to an external battery pack.
