xt ,@ €189, are €40 more than slx.

If a few grammes and having "better" letters matters, yes. Else, save 40 Euros and gain a more durable middle ring 🙂

XT.

Unless risk of trashing bike-go SLX.

I have some SLX turn up for my tourer and it's all good stuff.

XT seems a bit better quality, lighter and steel instead of plastic bits but the same mechanisms.

$40 more? well I would but I buy on bling, weight and not just it's use.

Depends on your riding style/where you ride and what you do.

type of riding?

alps, big hills, little bike park.

it's only the levers that look blingier, don't the calipers look the same?
