Hi,
Kind of two related questions. I bent my rear rotor pretty hard and it forced the calliper fully. I've fixed rotor but ...

now trying to bleed this and not having any luck. It’s a SLX M666 and I’ve done this once before with no issue, I'm using the screw in tool. On the destructions it shows putting the oil stopper in the tool first, if I do this, when I inject oil via the calliper it seeps out of the leaver casing or blows the syringe off. Saying that I've just checked on the Shimano website techdocs and it says not to use the stopper. I can’t figure out of I should use the oil stopper or not, I don’t even understand what it’d do apart from using the wider end when removing the bleed tool.

Either way I can’t get the thing bleed and wonder if somehow the lever popped a seal? Any one any suggestions not sure how likely something’s damaged?

Tim

If you inject fluid via the calliper with the stopper in the fluid will have nowhere to go, this is why it's seeping via the reservoir cap.

Attach your funnel to the MC and remove the stopper. Inject fluid via the calliper syringe, one you've released the nipple, and you should have fluid entering the funnel. Insert the stopper prior to removing the funnel.
