[#4211517]

I've just bought a slot dropout inbred to discover my hope C2 caliper doesn't fit. It's 160mm IS mount, as is the frame, but the piston reservoir thingy is a bit chunky and gets in the way of the frame. A google search uncovered a similar issue though it didn't seem to be resolved.

Before I buy a new brake, has anyone got this to work with alternative caliper half?

Anyone tried a Louise FR with this frame?

Thanks

Yes i did, didn't work.

went with an avid juicy, was a bit of a pain to find brakes that fit.

how annoying, I've emailed on-one to see if they have a list of compatible brakes!

How about a 180mm rear disc and an adapter to suit? This may give you the necessary clearance.

I got my C2 to fit my slot drop out inbred (no.3 caliper), with a small amount of filing....... not much, just enough.
The hope +20 adapter had to be modified too when I ran a 185 disc.

A no. 8 caliper half might work, needs a 185 rotor.

Thanks Phil, You filed down the cylinder behind the piston then? I'm not sure how thick it is before I start doing that, looks like I need to take 1-2mm off

No, not the brake caliper, the frame.
I used a half round file & took just enough off the frame to fit the caliper in on the furthest forward position.

I can email you some pics if you want?

Ahh ok, yeah I guess you can because that bit doesn't do much. Pics would be great though thanks, my email is in profile.

Deore M535s work, and suppose SLX665s and others with the same caliper would too.
