whats the best method to use to get grips on and make them stay put? never had trouble until now with MTB grips. I aways used the legendary BMX trick, hair spray and leave for a day or two!!
Two word solution - Lock On
White-spirits, just like golf grips.
Spray Mount, like hairspray, but a bit stronger. Clean the inside of the grip and the bars with disc brake cleaner or meths or IPA or something first so there's no residue.
I recently found a solution that works for me. Brake cleaner aerosols. as it dries out it makes the rubber of the grips sticky so they slide on easily when the cleaner is wet and as it dries out they stick to the bars. Its the best answer I have found as you can still get the grips off again by using more brake cleaner
Same as hairspray, slips on when wet and sticks as it dries out.... I've got a feeling its more down to the garage being damp rather than the old tricks not working. By the way its not my hairspray, its no use to me unless I can polish the bike with it.
