While a lot of it is "down" to personal taste, I've been using the Mountain Hardware Lamina synthetic bags for the last 18 months - a Lamina 35 for summer and a Lamina 0 for winter. As it happens, our favourite pop-up sale site is doing a promotion on them at the moment.

www.sportpursuit.com (note: that's not a referral link)

They have them in a range of lengths too.

(I'm considering a Lamina 20 for those in-between months ๐Ÿ˜ณ )

Nothing but good things to say about my Lamina 35, apart from the fact it's a bit stinky and could do with a wash.

colin - thanks for the pointer, I'm a bit confused though as the blurb for the Lamina 20 implies it's women specific ::) Can it really be gender specific? blimey!

would be good to have a bag other than my Rab down bag for sure..

Womens bags are often a slimmer fit - but have more filling for the same rated warmth (does that make sense?)

Only if you want to carry on paying over the odds for outdoor gear.

as long as you're not in a big rush for your stuff, no (look carefully at the delivery dates)
