[#5958242]

Hi all,My nobby nic is slanted when pumped up on the wheel,Anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it ?

It took me literally an hour and a half the get the bladdy thing on with blood sweat & nearly a load of tears.Ive take it off & deflated it but I'm hoping I won't have to take it off because it's so depressing trying to get it on.

Thanks in advance

If it was that hard to get on the bead has probably not seated onto the rim properly

Nope - just chuck a load of soapy water around the bead area ad it should sort itself....

Try letting it down and wetting the bead with water/washing up liqiud them pumping it up again, it should help the bead slip onto the rim

take some of the air out, grab the tyre and pull the it to one side then the other this will hopefully release the bead a little and move it.

good luck!

Or..... keep pumping and it could go on or give you rubber burns be carful!

I had some like that (manufactured incorrectly). CRC refunded me for a pair after one exploded while riding! They were also very difficult to fit.

Schwable will tell you to get a refund or exchange from the place you purchased them if they answer at all of course.

@ginge24 are you familiar with how tyres should seat on the bead? (sorry if I'm teaching my grandmother to suck eggs here but your posts don't make that clear). You should be able to see the rough bead all the way around the rim so the rim doesn't touch the sidewall.

Personally I squirt a bit of oil on the bead of tyres that don't seat properly. I've yet to hear why I shouldn't, hopefully someone will tell me if it's a bad idea.

Another technique if there is just one/two points that won't seat is to deflate to a sweet spot of about 20psi then grab the tyre and try to twist it on at those points. Or inflate super hard and hope it pops into place (before letting down to a sensible riding pressure).

As sideshow says - there's a line at the top of the bead which should be equally visible all the way round. If it's not, that's your problem. If it is then your tyre is buggered.
