As title really. Feel that it sits too high and want to slacken it a little.
Alpine links are hard to find but designed for the job. Offset bushings seem popular and cheaper. Any suggstions for a 2006 Marin Attack trail (Quad TARA) would be great.
Thanks
Chris
bushings
Alpine link from experience, but no doubt bushing would be easier to locate
Any idea where I could find an ellusive Alpine Link?
Cheers
brant - Have you used bushings? How much did they actually change the head angle and BB height as some reports say the numbers stated are bit exagerated?
Sorry no, assuming you've spoken to ATB, & scoured there dealer network.
Though apparently there two types, to add to the confusion.
My brother got his the year after he bought the bike, so had no issues location one... and obviously the bike rides much better for it...

i made one - this is a 'prototype' i made on the manual mill for a mates marin for a trip to the alps a couple of weeks ago.
this one is 5mm longer and it slackened the head angle by about a degree or so.
i used 6082t6, FAG bearings and it is carryover hardware (bolts, nuts, spacers and washers etc) and fits straight on. you obviously get the crush tube already fitted.
if you want one, i can make you one, but i will cnc it so i looks a bit nicer, and it will be a little bit lighter as well (but it hardly weighs anything as it is)
i can also make it custom length.
some shiny cnc'ing i did last week as an example.
