Possibly a daft question but personal experience is a bit rubbish at the moment
Bought the NS Eccentric as per previous threads. Think it actually looks good with the Trail Boss skinwalls - the Light/Fast casing - but dear gods I'm having problems with the rear tyre, even run tubeless.
Third proper ride out, on the final descent at Ae, I managed to put two holes in it and ding the rim. One was a 6-7mm split alongside a tread block that plugged with an anchovy, the other was a scuffed hole in the sidewall that probably occurred on the same rock that dinged the rim. Dab of glue on the outside and the latex held it.
Then Tuesday this week, fairly innocuous scuff off a rock on a local night ride loop (Meanwood, for anyone that knows it) and another anchovy needs stuck into a 5mm hole on the sidewall that wouldn't seal. I've never had issues with any other tyre to the same extent as this.
So, are all skinwalls really weak, or is it just the TrailBoss, or am I just unlucky? Not running them stupidly low, not riding over broken glass and scuffing off rocks all the time. In the words of 2K: WTF is going on?
Some are genuinely skinwall in that they expose the casing on the side (wtb for example) some are cosmetic where the sidewall is just beige rubber. The latter should be a bit more robust
