following on from the drops thread i've been thinking of doing a skills course and wondered if anyone has any reccommendations in cumbria? I think the shop at Whinlatter does them but any others (S lakes would be better)

cheers

Can strongly recommend http://www.cycleactive.co.uk/courses/skills/lakes.html

I was a wheels-on-the-ground type of guy for years but after coming a cropper on an unseen drop I decided to get taught - for my own safety as much as anything else! I spent a couple of days with Rich doing drops and all kinds of general handling techniques and feel sooo much more confident and flowy than I used to (been riding for 15 years!)
Very supportive and patient, can highly recommend

@lakesrider
if you want south lakes that's fine for us - we work pretty closely with the guys at wheelbase and that has become a favourite launch point for skills training days in the south lakes, with wilfs and the fancy artisan baker there for carbohydrate support...
if you want to talk about the kind of things you need to cover then drop me an email chris@cycleactive.co.uk or check the contact numbers etc on the website.
hope this helps.
