You have to line the tyre with four old tubes to protect against thorns.

why is there two quoted weights? 285g followed by 310g.

Weird, they do weigh 285g, but were based on the Maxxlite 310, which weighed 310g, guess they've copied/pasted the description.

Trouble is the Schwalbe Furious Fred is about 1/3 the price, only weighs 295g (some are lighter anyway) and they have more grip. Unsurprisingly there was a huge thread on Weight Weenies with all the Euros creaming themselves over the idea of those 285s though!
