[#1150402]

Hi all,

Had a look through the old threads and nobody seems to be as much of a short ar*e as me ๐Ÿ™‚

Looking to buy a 2010 P7 frame and want to ensure i get the right size, unfortunately i live in Oz so its hard to jump on a demo!

I am about 5ft 7" with a 30" inside leg. Have finishing kit already, will be running new RS Revs U-Turn, 70mm stem.

Cheers

Shorts

I'm 5'10 and had a 17 which fitted me perfectly - I'd probably be tempted by the size down for you

I'm about 5ft 8" with similar inside leg. Mine is a 2007 17". Running a 90mm stem at the moment, 70 will go on at some point. Feels spot on for me, so I imagine the 15" would be just a bit small for you.

Hmmm, same old story, somewhere between a small and medium! I prefer my bikes on the small size though i must admit. I also have a small Giant Trance X0...

Mysterymove, do you run a long stem/layback post?!

Im 5'7 and had a 15" with a 70mm stem. Never felt as quick uphill on it as my 5 and decided it was a bit short so put a layback on it which improved things a bit, but in the end I came to the conclusion that it was too small for me and sold it.

70mm Hope Stem + 25mm headset spacers, with 25mm risers and a RF seatpost with I guess 25mm set back? saddles set a little way back not that far though...

Didn't really want to go much longer in the top tube as it already feels weird going back and forth from the Small Intense to the Clockwork. The only thing I'm not sure about is the low front end, but thats due to the axle / crown difference from the Reba WC's to Fox 36's! I couldn't ride the Intense all day but the Clockworks really comfy. TBH I love the small size it makes me do things i shouldn't on an XC bike ๐Ÿ™‚

Hmm, comparin frame measurements seems that the the small P7 is closest to my trance. Same effective TT length etc. Standover height seems a bit tight on the 17" P7 at 29" too!!

15" it is i think

I'm 5ft5 with 27.5 inside leg - a proper short arse - I can do the same things other people can do but I dont have the disadvantage of having to bend down.
I had a 15 inch p7 2008, just sold it, too big, went to a 14inch on one 456. Much more comfy. But then I grew up on bmx so I like a small bike...
