I think they shouldn't cancel his subscription and keep sending him magazines. That would surely make his blood boil.
I have just had an 8 minute conversation with Jamie sorting out the missing issue 62. Turns out my subscription had run out on 61. He has sorted my mistake in a very helpful and friendly manner. If you could not get through on the phone then I can confirm he was not on a break. Lazlo, you are special by the way.
glittergary, I think they should cancel his subscription but keep sending him magazines anyway
random intervals, mind - and at least 2wk late
My (non-subscriber) copy has mostly been turned to paper-mache by an 11-month old with 6 tiny teeth and a lot of saliva. Can I get a refund?

...and keep sending the same issue.

Good idea, make sure they are suitably late, and try and leave some coffee rings on the covers too.
Either that or subscribe him to relax
To be fair to the chap, the post in S****horpe has been bad. 🙂
*Awaits ban and much needed work productivity increase*
I for one would just like to come out and show my support for Lazio.....
....er then again maybe not, I've not yet taken my tablets this morning, dude stop being a tool, apologise, either on here or in a direct mail to ST Towers, you are annoyed and frustrated, but over reacting a tad, and the thing is, unforetunately in the tone and manner of your posts you are not winning any fans or sympathy from anyone here, after all "stuff" happens, chill out it'll arrive (eventually) who knows it may even be there in time for next Crimbo. I'm just curious what you'd do if your copy of the Daily Mail didn't arrive in the morning.
I'm sorry Mark, you seem to be under the mistaken impression that my last post was an attempt at mitigation or back tracking? That was never my intention, I've paid, you've not delivered. Is that good enough? Hate? I'm not the only one using strong words, but hey ho, people do say such silly things.
I've just spoken to an extremely helpful young gentleman in your office (Jamie?) and cancelled my subscription. And that at least would seem to introduce some pleasure into your life, but don't feel the need to mention it, you're more than welcome.
missing you already
Laurence
Dear Members
Just to avoid any confusion over posts relating to Michael Douglas in 'Falling Down' it is probably best that I mention that I am the aforementioned Jamie 'Subscription and Distribution Sadist' and am now returning back to my job of sorting the rather large job in hand.
Yours
Jamie
Can I just say @ Mark, well said!!!!
I thought last nights post was Lazio's very very last post?
Oh and don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out mate!!
it is probably best that I mention that I am the aforementioned Jamie 'Subscription and Distribution Sadist' and am now returning back to my job of sorting the rather large job in hand.
jamie that's not good enough. I think you should have a very long break, leave the phone off the hook and then refuse to get back in touch with people. 😉
The slightly more serious issue here is the loose accusation of thievery. On many occasions in the past any person making such an accusation about a company on our forum has quickly resulted in that company requesting the thread be removed. In some cases we've had legal representatives make that contact on behalf of companies who consider they have been libeled.
I can often see their point. A point that can be illustrated right now by typing 'Singletrack thief' into google.
Thanks for the flurry of new subscriptions and upgrades this morning. Along with all the comments of support it's genuinely lifted our spirits and motivated us all to make sure we do everything we can to sort this mess out for all our subscribers still affected.
if Kazoo would like to tell me his home address and the times when he will be at home to recieve it I will get my mate 'Scouse Paddy' to nip over [s]with a complimentary copy of the missing issue for him[/s] and teach him what stealing actually is
Top job to all at STW for producing such a good mag. Personally it never bothers me that my subs copy is a little late as Im usually still reading the previous months mag, its normally that full of quality stuff it needs a full 31 days attention
Mr Kazoo's opinion is his and his only the vast majority of us really appreciate the job you guys do to meet your deadlines and get the mag out every month so cheers guys
Mark 'Resident not so Grumpy' 🙂
I do hope Lazlo has the decency to
a) post it back when it does arrive
and
b) stop posting on singletrack forthwith.
Can I just say.....well done to ST for taking the time to reply to this idiot's request.....all that has happened is 1 bellend no one is going to miss has cancelled his subscription and ST gets a round of well deserved appreciation and praise.
Chipps, Mark and Jamie kudos to well written and dignified responses.
I do appreciate Lazlo having a whinge about issue 62 as he has not got his 2011 calender and therefore cannot mark out when his menstrual cycle begins......do us all a favour sell ur bike, give up cycling and subscribe to the daily mail app on the i-pad and write to them and complain....TOSSER!!!!!!
There are some customers that are not worth having, they cause you so much grief that their £3.12 is not woth having, not sure that declaring it publicly is the right thing. Although its a lot more paletable than slagging off all your customers on twitter 😉
STW - the Ratners of the publishing world?
Think I owe ST a New Year's pint...£3.12 sent 😀
who cancels a subscription over a posting issue - it's not as if he's the only one or it's a one off - most of the country have been having issues with the post - understandable when you see the ice in some places.
what a fruitloop.
From now on, will calling someone a "lazlo" count as swear filter avoidance?
Get a grip.Shit happens. It's a magazine. If the worst thing in your life is that your bike magazine hasn't been delivered then you are a luckier person than most of us!
I'm sure that they are working to sort it out.
+1 many times over
From now on, will calling someone a "lazlo" count as swear filter avoidance?
oh is his name lazlo
I owe him an apology. I called him Kazoo in my earlier post
sorry mate, it was a simple mistake. Please don't cancel me or anything
lazlo - quick question: when it rains, do you stand outside, naked and weeping, flailing your arms at the sky and accusing god of stealing your sunshine?
What a funny little person you are.
Maybe Lazlo thought that because he has been as subscriber since issue 10, that he should have had special service. I think that in the circumstances, Mark should have delivered Lazlo's copy by hand and quite possibly ridden round there on a unicorn.
Some customers CANNOT be pleased or satisfied EVER. Fact.
Well done to all at STW for remaining grown up and rising above such obviously deranged comments from the OP.
Wonder how he'd react if someone actually really wronged him?
I reckon someone had a bad day yesterday and focused it all on a missing bike mag
If a subscription is such a pita get your papershop to order it in and deliver it, works for me, there's much bigger things to get angry at, old dears in tesco, eastenders and 4x4's, direct your anger at those
They deserve it......
a thread of balance it would seem..
laszlo over reacts about the mag and mark over reacts about the use of a word and starts getting all legal 🙄
lazlo wanted to wind you up mark and it worked but hey as he well knows it's easily done.
lazlo, I think you're blaming the wrong people. Surely you should be writing to the Pope! He's Gods representative on Earth, and as such should be held directly responsible for the weather and the poor postal service. If anything, he's the thief here.
PS. My toast was burnt this morning, should I write to Kenwood seeing as they stole my breakfast?
PPS. Could everyone stop encouraging lazlo to stop posting on the forum...it's rants like this that make forums funny and Britain great.
PPPS. Well done to STW staff for their handling of this rant...good work, and I think I'll subscribe.

I did wonder whether my posts would be misconstrued as coming from yourself. Sorry if you got some grief as a result.
What a fantastic thread - brightened up my morning after a nightmare commute into work 🙂
I was genuinely considering cancelling my subscription next month but I think I might stay on now. For the record, my copy arrived Christmas Eve - earlier than several Birthday cards posted the beginning of December!
And I agree - the staff have handled this extraordinary rant amazingly well 🙂
If I'd over reacted and got all 'legal' I'd have pulled the thread. I'm not bothered about the google issue in our case as it's clearly obvious from reading the linked google results what the issue is. I was just illustrating how careless comments on a forum can have much larger repercussions. Maybe it will create a little more understanding in the future when we have to step in a moderate a thread because of such loose accusations.
That said I am still quite cross at having the entire company branded thieves and I think that as one of the directors here responsible for that kind of thing I'm entitled and expected to 'react' to that and defend our corner. I don't think it's an over reaction to be a bit 'grumpy' about that.
I tend to agree with the op
ST sponsored our event, we gave advertising as agreed they failed to send the prizes. They're crap IMO.
That said I am still quite cross at having the entire company branded thieves
we will have to agree to disagree then as once again this is in my view getting upity about nowt.
Mark, my 'resident not so grumpy' was in response to your 'we're all cheered up by the reaction from others' comment so apologies if it sounded like a pop at you - was intended as exactly the opposite.
You've every right to be grumpy with the OP and I can't understand why he's insisting on continuing with his 'theifs' stance.
Mark's response is fine. All businesses have problem customers, and TBH, it'sd often easier to sack them.
FWIW, I work for a FTSE 250 company. It sells broadband, phone and other stuff. It's been on Watchdog in the last few months. Every email sent by disatisfied customers to either the chairman or chief executive is dealt with personally by them, in spite of the fact that they are trying to run a business with 7000 employees and 5 million cutomsers.
Fair play to Mark and Chipps. I'd have done much the same.
Not at all wwaswas, My post wasn't aimed at you at all 🙂 Nonk was who I was responding too. We seem to disagree on whether I should be bothered about being called a thief on our own forum 🙂
we will have to agree to disagree then as once again this is in my view getting upity about nowt.
Although I agree with you nonk, the whole episode appears to have been positive for business. Lost one idiot gained several more subscribers. I guess my view of how you talk to customers in a corporate world is very far removed from what you can get away with in a business like this.
The twitter insident was still a bit Ratners though,,,:-)
Any-hoo.....anyone going out on the bike today or we improving our typing skills? 😆
This has raised a very very serious point though.
I too have not yet received the now infamous "Issue 62"
Now apart from a few posts on the previous thread to update the masses on my non fulfilment I have not complained or moaned. I’ve just sat back assumed RM will get round to it in good time and I will at some point in the future get "Issue 62"
My real issue comes in the form of “A Pint” will all thoses who have waited patiently and said nothing be offered the aforementioned “Pint” ?
i think you should be more bothered about the fact he has been a happy customer for years and now he is not.
yes he is a ranty nutter but so are you.
you attitude to customers has been shown before to be sketchy at best. 🙂
Its snowing again now so your mag will be even more late 😆
I'm not falling for your baiting this time nonk. Have a good day 🙂
My issue 62 is still AWOL. Hopefully it'll turn up just as I run out of reading material from Christmas.
righto 🙂
