Despite being brought up there I was wondering if anyone knew of any decent singletrack in around salisbury, don't really want to head out onto the plain. I'm stayting with my folks in Laverstock so i'm guessing there MUSt be some around Pitton and the Winterslows?

I'm doing a nightride from Salisbury next week, tuesday or thursday. Can lend you lights if you don't have any. Can do 10-15miles really. Also riding at weekends, but not for a couple of weeks.

Otherwise, do you have an OS Map? Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin ๐Ÿ™‚

Monarchs way from Salterton to Hurdcott
Rings around Old Sarum
BW from Old Sarum to Salterton, then L at crossroads with Monarchs way. Down to Farm
FP from Farm back up, then descend through woods towards Netton.
Various bits around Harnham slope, all cheeky, some very steep ๐Ÿ™‚
Various bits in Hare Warren, all cheeky.
Various bits of Grovely Wood, but especially the FP on the north eastern edge and descents into Wishford
Descent from Fovant either to road or West Farm is good.

There's definitely a few STWers from Salisbury area, hopefully some will be along soon to help. If you need to fill this wet and windy afternoon try searching the forum and see if you can pick up anything from the old posts.
I know some Bath way but that's probably too far.
Edit: I see one beat me to posting!

I've got some good stuff to the East of the Plain, including plenty around Tidworth if you know where to look!

Always worth asking around in Stonehenge Cycles on a Saturday morning!

Arse, forgot me favourite bit:

Scratchy Path, BW from Little Woodbury near Hospital, going towards A354. Guaranteed to draw blood, but so much fun

Hi 'Richpenny'- a bit late to join this forum i know! Where exactly is your favorite 'Scratchy path' near the hospital? Just picked up my new mountain bike and really want to try it out properly!

I find that the best way to find places to cycle is the 'Public Rights of Way' link on Wiltshire Council's website. Also don't forget the new bespoke mountain bike trail at Moors Valley Country Park near Ringwood. There are videos of it on youtube. Other than that, the path down the side of Huddson's Fields near Old Sarum is pretty quick

Does anyone else know some decent steep paths near Salisbury? Even short ones?!?!!
