Having just gone over the tops to drop off the mother in laws kettle I noted that it felt like I was less gaining the thighs of a greek god and the lungs of dolly parton and more like gaining the haemerroids of a georgian country squire - is this normal?

Well, most of my road riding is fixed, and I have the thighs of a chicken. Must be a euphemism, surely? ๐Ÿ˜‰

What gear are you riding on? 42x16?

It's overated. Put some gears on, you'll go quicker.

Nah, riding singlespeed for a while makes riding with gears faster. I've been on my SS only for a couple of months, then took my geared bike last night and was flying up hills, attacking instead of spinning.

But then how will everyone know you're a niche attention whore?

The socks might give it away though. ๐Ÿ˜‰
