I ride mostly SS or Fixed so was thinking about converting my touring bike to SS too. i have to do this with my OH's as we've sold the running gear. Does anyone else do this? what gear ratio do you use? My fixed road bike is on 48x17 and the MTB on 36x18, i was thinking around a 65" gear? we have our touring gear pretty dialed in so its all quite light and we know exactly what and what not to take. Cheers

Someone on here (stoner?) did a big tour with one gear. Sure he'll be along in a bit with advice.

There are some articles on fixed audax bikes that'll give you a good idea.
That's why I'm asking about freewheels above, as I'm thinking about pressing my old Claud Butler into use as an audax bike.
