[#1987781]

Just finished this tonight after waiting on the spacers for the rear sprocket. Stuff I had plus a frame off the classifieds. Looking forward to a bit of fun in the Forest of Dean over the winter. Chain needs tightening a wee bit and the front feels as though it might be a little high just judging by the wee spin up the street.

Can't wait till Friday for the commute in now.

Aye, I know about the chain. Looking forward to this as I used to have a large sized EBB version with 140mm forks and never really got on with it as the BB felt way too high (13 inches). This one's an older model medium and I've got the forks down at 125mm and it felt nice on the 50 metres up the road and back, so we'll see.

Mint. You need to spray the frame black though, black singlespeed chameleons (as ridden by me, samuri and mattmagic amongst others) are best. Preferably ones with really old fox forks with completely knackered stanchions ๐Ÿ˜‰

Any problems setting up the rear brake?

Was thinking of a Chameleon (ss) to replace my Curtis SX, and read it can be tricky to get the mix of chain tension and the brake/disc in line.

Like it!

get your chain tighter tho

Doesn't look too bad to me? If too tight surely it can increase wearing on freehub etc.

robidoo - I'm using 32:17 and it seems to pretty much line up where it does with the geary tabs in place. I'm sure with a half link on a singlespeed chain you could certainly get it close enough not to worry.

Cheers for that.

Yeah and the BB - am a bit worried mine is a bit too tight, though I don't feel any actual binding. But the bottom of the chain looked noticeably saggy in that pic, at least to me. What are your thoughts about chain tension?

Even as it is in the photo it was a bu&&er to get off to let me take the back wheel out, so I doubt I'd drop it as it is.

I have one almost identical to that, but betterer... It's got gears!!!

Looks like the same model year as mine, and the same 'dog knob red'... NBT is VERY much mistaken, red bikes go far quicker than black ones, fact.

Great fun bike, harsh as funk but damn good fun!

exotic 29er forks help to keep the geometry right for me and look great too!
