[#1212530]

Looking for a silver 32t 5 bolt chainring for a singlespeed project, it's to go on some old shimano crank arms. Tried all the usual websites but struggling on the 5 bolt. Any ideas... cheaper the better...

Surly?

I've got 5 bolt CD SS SS rings in 30T and 34T. Should be widely available although £25-£30. Wiggle used to do them but you could try Sideways or Charliebikemonger.

I have measured the BCD and it's only 58, seems its a compact. The smallesy ring currently on it is a 32t, but its ramped, so I was looking for a SS specific one.

Just ordered a 32T 5-bolt, took me ages to find one with no ramps. Got a Surley new off Fleabay.

I carn't find anything this small, any suggestions... I might have to bite the bullet and get a cheap crankset.

What is the centre-centre measurement of two adjacent mounting holes?
About 55.3mm?

Surely 58mm BCD is for the granny ring? Should have an outer circle of 94mm which is called 5-bolt Compact Drive (CD). You can get Surly's rings for this down to 30T in 1T steps. They last for ages.

My crank arms only allow for fitting a granny ring, the rest attach to that? Any ideas?

A photo would help.

IIRC stx had an arrangement whereby all rings clamped on to the granny sockets.

I suspect you may be ****ed.

I wouldn't be sruprised if Madison still had stock of the middle rings, worth a try.
