Off in 10 days for family visit. Any local riders here ? Anywhere decent to hire a bike for a day ?

Seems there are a few small riding spots.

Will be packing riding kit anyway, as also off to Bali and some decent stuff there.

This is what we rode when I went to visit my brother. I borrowed his wifes xs hardtail so can't really help with hire.

Bukit Timah, Butterfly trail and T15.

Pulau Ubin had some better riding but I never made it there.

I rode with some roadies last year but not MTB. For road bike rentals either www.thebikebutler.com or at a push Fab's Cycle near chinatown has some.

The (very) early morning road rides always look well attended.

The best bike trail is on Pulau Ubin. You can hire bikes on the island once you get the ferry from Changi village but they're basic, they'll do the job though.

Bukit Timah trail is also decent, but I'm struggling to think where you'd hire a bike nearby.

I've ridden with the ANZA group couple of times on some early road rides. Better to ride in the morning as the roads are quieter. The standard of driving here is pretty appalling - there were 17 deaths last year!

Off road is pretty poor as there's hardly any hills. I cant wait to get back to the UK for a week at Easter.
