Looking for a simple gps unit that I can use as a back-up for my phone - something cheap and rudimentary. Just need a route recorded and the function to upload it later - nowt else. Anyone using something like this on their bike?
Igotu gt-600
Not sure if its the simplest or how it compares in price to other models, but I've been really pleased with my Garmin Edge 200.
There are no fancy route maps to look at or heart rate facilities and it's pretty small in size.
It is obviously a bike computer though rather than just a recording device.

+2. It's a small box with one button. Couldn't be simpler and mine has always been reliable. Unlike my phone.
i-gotU... mine is a GT-120, but I see they don't make them anymore... as above one button, plenty of capacity, and decent battery life (not sure how long, but mine coped with 12.5 hours OK set to record at 1 second a point).
After 3.5 years I've just had to get a new cable for it as I damaged the old one... otherwise it's fine.
I use my running watch - Garmin forerunner 10. It's fine for what you want, as long as you don't mind using Garmin connect.
It records everything as a run, but that's easily changed to whatever category you want (mountain biking, road cycling, downhill - loads of categories), once the session's uploaded.
Thanks for the suggestions. I was thinking of spending around a tenner, so have re-calibrated ๐ The igotu looks good.
I was looking on ebay and found this.

Not sure how good or bad it is but it's close to a tenner.
