What other frames are out there which have similar geometry to a Roadrat and can take a bit of abuse? Must run 700cc wheels and disk brakes. Would get a Roadrat but large frames out of stock.

Not a lot of choice, but Swift Perigrine is one of the options

Looks a nice frame. Are 29" wheels the same as 700cc?

Yes. Rims are the same diameter.
Singular Peregrine, not Swift. The Singular Swift is the 29er, the Peregrine is closer to what you're after.
