We stayed at the YHA wilderhope manor and loved the geography of the area, in particular the wenlock edge which runs past the hostel. Looking at an OS map it appears that the edge is a permissive bridleway but I couldn't see any horse/cycle gates on the path. The OS map isn't clear as there's 2 long distance walking routes along the edge.
Any stw members got experience of the area?

Then looking for old railway track through the trees running sw-ne, now wide double track mostly contouring on Jack Mytton Way to Much Wenlock. Great, fast going.

Full or part Jack Mytton Way well worth a look. Heavy going muddy in places, but this is the best time of year to do it as there's not been that much rain for the last month (chucking it down at the moment!).
I rode it a couple of years ago, from Much Wenlock (NT car park), as far as Eaton. The riding isn't very exciting, but it's interesting to ride along an edge.
