I have a showerpass ecolyte jacket. Probably the best jacket I have owned.
Smart removable hood.
Massive rear pocket. Huge vents.
I have used it sparingly under 20 times and not in anger, but the jacket wets out and does not bead.
Anyone else got any wetting out issues as it's an expensive jacket?

I have a showerspass Refuge jacket. Brilliant piece of kit until it started doing the same despite multiple re proofing attempts. However having then read the reproving instructions properly (curses of getting used to needing reading glasses more than I think I do) turns out I had been using wasaaay to little liquid. Used the right amount and jacket started performing again if that helps you in case that’s the issue. Using wax tech wash and TX direct in the washing machine. Still prefer my Paramo but runs even hotter than the Refuge.

That sounds pretty normal for modern (as opposed to everlasting poisonous) DWR. It’s not as D as it was but it’s a lot better for the planet.
I use soap flakes for washing this stuff because it’s way cheaper than tech wash and works the same. TX Direct to reproof when required (not v often). It’s usually dirt that stops DWR working, not an absence of DWR.
Mine is about 1.5yrs, lots of use. No wetting out, but last month got so filthy i really had to bite the bullet and wash/reproof as hosing it down after muddy rides just wasn’t cutting it and beading was less.
tech wash, then spray on reproofer whilst still wet. For the first time ever in my history of trying to do this with jackets it worked a treat. Totally minging 4hr ride in pissing rain and spraying mud on Friday and beaded like a champ and. A shake at the end of the ride got alll the mud off.
i recommend a tech wash and spray on reproof 👍
