Terrible old picture, but it hasn't changed since then:

[img] [/img]

It's on Blunt 35 rims, which is right on the limit with a 2.25 Smorg in the back. Hope hubs (which are lovely) and some XT brakes i had from a previous build.

The gearing is all perfectly standard stuff; conventional chainring, and 32:18 (or possibly 32:20, i can't remember).

No idea what it weighs.

Not entirely confident this image will work, facebook has been a bit flakey for this recently.

Anyhow, 34-19 as that gives me more options for a longer ratio, 34-16 for mainly road rides. Now with flat carbon bars. Built, (years ago now) in preference to a Fortitude as I thought a frame with geometry for suspension forks would be a good idea. Bought some and sent them back. 😀 Weight? Well, I rode it to work once, and it caused an extra tide as I rode over the Dee estuary.
[img] [/img]

Meh, didn't work. It's a Genesis High Latitude with a Salsa enabler fork and fairly normal other bits.

That's the one, Rich. One of the most "right" bikes that's been on here.

Just looked right.

Some time ago but still the same spec, started as 32/16, went to 32/17, slightly embarrassed to say now 32/18, I'm feeling old... it's my go to bike, I have a few but this does more miles than any other Mtb. Has a full strip once a year, prob a new chain then, and pads. BB, is Shimano Octa which lasts a couple of years, they have 180 cranks, which seem to help with SS. I last bled the Avid brakes over ten years ago went I put Goodrich hoses on, dare not touch them now and always work well. It's also always run large tyres 2.4s, now seem normal. This set up works so well, it's like a big bmx on ST, always enjoy it.

A number of lovely bikes above, especially love postirichie's IF,

Some lovely bikes

Forget everything else! I want to know what happened to DJFlexure's fork!

Going full gas along the canal last night as the sun was setting. Failed to see one of those small wooden bollards placed right in the middle of the track. Crunch, OTB.

Will put a suspension fork back on and see if I have broken anything else. The wheel amazingly seemed OK but time will tell.

Yeah don't know how I didn't get the fork off that Pegasus the other week! So close............

Do you get enough clearance for a Chronicle on a 45mm rim in a Niner fork?

Good time for this thread to pop up. I've got a(nother) Curtis S1 frame, picked up some RC31s off here the other week for it and also have a Hope wheelset on the way which i don't think I'm going to bother with now and get myself a proper SS setup for the back rather than using spacers and a SS kit.

Thinking some Middleburn UNOs, Thomson stem and post, On-One Marys and some biggish rubber.

My Surly 1x1. Nearly 10 years of ownership now and for most of them just the 'winter snot bike' but putting the 50mm rims on this year has transformed it into the bike I want to ride everywhere ahead of my 29er, fatbike and even the geared Ti frame now running 27.5.
Gearing is 34/17, it's not particularly light, mid 20s but feels soooo smooth and fast now on either 2.4 or 3.0inch tyres run at 15psi

I miss my old Niner One9 scandium SS.

SRAM Carbon cranks, F1 brakes, ZTR rims. Spesh tyres, Xtr clips, full RDO Carbon kit (bars, post, stem) and forks.

Rode amazing, light, rapid and flicky.

I really do miss it.

Stu, in true black sheep styles, what was in the pic ain't what the frame was 🙂 certainly a lot shorter than 23.5 ett more like 22.75 on a good day. Possibly why your big old beasty self never quite got on with it

I didn't say it was a representation of the frame I said it was the original drawings. 😆
Reminds me of of first and second frames he built for me.
First one wouldn't fit a 2.3 tyre in and the replacement for it was an inch longer in the toptube despite both being built from the same drawings. 😆
I'd already given up on them by the time that one arrived.
The guy's a ****ing clown.
