Crap pick of mine from today.
It was bought as a stock GT avalanche 2.0 to be sued as a rigid road/commuting/shop bike but as usual this went by the way side ๐Ÿ™‚

Rode today on its first off road ride and felt ace (in the White Peak) - nigh on perfect for the terrain - road/off road/road/off road ad infinitum.

[img] [/img]

Spec is now as follows:
Avalanche 2.0 frame
Recon air forks
FSA XC 300 wheels and spesh tyres (for now)
Truvativ stylo cranks and gxp bb
Raceface ride seatpost and charge Knife saddle
Truvativ stem and syncros bulk bars (Ritchey foam loc ons)
XT front and rear mechs - deore shifters - sram 970 cassette
Stock Tecktro Aurigo comp discs (for now)
**** bros Acids pedals

Huge thread resurrection here, but here is the Budget 456 finished

Frame/ forks/ wheels cheap off the bay
Bits stolen off cheap hardtail I got from STW classifieds
Brakes from STW
(Got a new front/rear mech)
Black seatpost/ lockons coming (from here)

[img] [/img]

have not ridden it yet of course ๐Ÿ™‚

rear hose needs shortening as does the chain...

Not a picture for resolving much detail, I grant you, but this is a bike that gets ridden at least as much as everything else combined, if not more. This is the very last bike that I will ever get rid of.

It's 26" at both ends, but might not look it as the proportions in the shot are all to cock again as that's how my strange little camera sees the world.

Early 90's Kona frame, which has been SS for years, plus some other recent extras.

Doesn't it?! I think it's due mostly to the wheels - I've sold those now as they were giving people the wrong idea!
