Pointless unless you live in Alaska or on a beach, doing endless boring sandy miles.
It took me 9 hours to drag the stupi thing this far up a hill

Scout - i feel your pain

Every day

Especially when i see the bits stacked in my shed to fit to the wayward orange beaked artic little git ๐Ÿ™

Some quick research has possibly resulted in a way to take my mind of things till it arrives

DIY (Drill it yourself) is proving very popular on wheel builds and none have folded and one has died yet from DIY wheels collapsing as some of us fat old gits thought would happen ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ™‚

I couldn't believe the weight of the swarf and 'holes' I ended up with at the end - probably at least a normal rims worth!

I really am going to have to drill my rims ๐Ÿ˜•

I used a Bosch holesaw in my pillar drill.

Reversed the head so it hung out past the edge of the bench and used a piece of wood the width of the spoke gap to support the rim. By putting a stop on the 'support' bit of wood the mid point of the rim was always directly under the drill and I had something to push against to stop the rim moving whilst drilling (although I did mark the centre between each pair of spokes for additional confidence).

Low speed, lots of wd40 squirted on to keep temperatures down and the bit spinning freely and it was fine.

Bashing each plug out of the bit each time was probably the most time consuming/frustrating part.
