Strangely my 03 Horst link seems to sit up under pedalling during climbing and has never sagged in its travel

While I love my Horst Turner, that is not the way I'd describe it. For me, it sinks quite noticeably into it's travel. It's still an excellent climber, but does lack an immediate response under power.
I've not tried a DW link one yet though, so I will reserve judgement.

i've owned 2 HL turners, briefly owned a tnt, and now own an HL flux. i didn't think the change would be that noticible. but it is. climbs better, feels taughter, unfortunately now overwhelms the fork and i think i need 120mm ๐Ÿ˜€

be aware that guides in spain riding 5 Spots for the last 6 years, virtually every day, being the HL, TNT and now DWL suggest there's almost no discernible difference between the characteristics of the linkage systems.....and these guys ride hard every day !

And yet the Nicolais are soooooooooooo much better ๐Ÿ™„

Just got my DW spot in raw & absolutely love it. Pretty much like V10's piccy but medium(thanks Luke -it's fantastic). Have ridden hl spot & owned non hl spot - DW far outperforms them both imo

No problem, glad your enjoying it, cheers for the help with the tyres by the way, i was dying on my feet the day you came to collect it! ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Hey Al, do you think my riding experience would have been so much better if I rode whatever TLR suggests ๐Ÿ˜†

All I need now is a Beamer or an Impreza to complete the stroker look 8)

My bike goes BOING!

HL works, why change ? ๐Ÿ˜€

fwiw, i was holding out for the DWL RFX but daft rear axle system, cone head and fugliness are somewhat off-putting.....

TLR, having previously owned a Helius FR and now a DW Spot, I can safely say that the Turner has a much better suspension action.

You need to do a little more research!

Hope and a like are making adapters to fit existing hubs

Just as I would expect you would say the Nicolai is better ๐Ÿ˜‰

Out of interest why did you upgrade to a CCDB?

toons that mean i can run my pro2 with adapters! (stop teasing me!!)

The required hubs:
Standard 135 mm hubs are used and have the standard end caps replaced with wider ones (3.5 mm per side), actual resulting width is 142 mm.

That new RFX looks much more like it. Hope the 5 Spot ends up with that design too.

The last I saw on MTBR was that the RFX is unlikely to be available until 2010. In fact Dave Turner seems to be getting a little frustrated with constant badgering by the Homers to hurry up and get on with it!!

Singletrackmonkey
You won't regret it. IMO DW Spot is a lot more taught ride than previous Spots, doesn't feel like your riding a 5 1/2" travel bike until you hit something rough, then just let it fly ๐Ÿ˜‰

TLR, (sorry for the hijack) I really like the look of the new helius AC.
I am on an Intense 5.5 at the mo, would you know what difference I would notice if I took the plunge? (except 1lb less weight and more travel)
