Hmmm...... I've an old skool bike currently not being used, and could update it with some carbon 1" forks.
I have recently seen on here a STW member who used Carbon Cycles forks.
Anyone used them or have any comments about them?
cheers

The CC (Exotic) forks are the same as Superstar and White Bros. I've not heard of any major issues. However, you might struggle to get a 1" steerer?

druidh:
ahhh. ( Superstar/White ) I was wondering where they'd come from.
They do a 1" steerer and 425mmm length, hence me suddenly waking up and wondering about them.
It would mean I could keep the ahead set on, plus disc as opposed to changing the headset back to a threaded one and going back to v's up front ..... but I then already have original Pace RC35's or an alternatve ridgid steel forks so twould save on my somewhat recently bashed savings!
thanks

after only a couple of rides, i'm not sure my old bones will cope with the rigid forks for long 😳

is it just me, or does it seem that everyone is running their 29ers as singlespeeds? is there a reason for this?

I am sure someone will be along with a reason for running 29ers as SS, but for me I just like it that way.

They're 26" forks and that's a 29er wheel with a 2.1" tyre. A 2.35" does not fit (in either size) which is a disappointment because they don't make it clear in their adverts that they are narrow. I'll measure them if you need an exact figure.

They are cheap Raleigh touring bars turned upside down. The closest thing I can find to a set of Great North Road bars we used in the "old days" (also touring bars turned upside down). I find them comfortable for long days, but you have to get the stem distance right because there is not many alternative positions. However the great thing is on a long ride you can simply flip them in minutes, and then continue on in blissful comfort. 🙂

(if you have clamp on grips)
