[#1898784]

Hi all
I've got a few ideas for my next bike.
Just wanted to see some custom paint.

Here's my old bike.
It's a front to back fade between light orange and dark orange (hard to see in the photo) with 'prismatique' glass sparklies.

I'm thinking of doing the next one myself, so I'm looking for inspiration.

Cheers
Alex

No, there's no black. The last gen XTR cranks and rear mech don't really look that dark in the flesh.

Black and silver mixed can look very good. I think that's a good example actually. Polished silver bars are a bit of a rarity too. And polished silver rims.

There were a couple of pics of an artist-painted Trance on here the other day.
I'm sure there are loads knocking around.

That chap with the Maverick ML-7 who had had it painted with a goldfish-heavy underwater scene with waterweed and bubbles was pretty cool in a "gosh You actually got that done specially. Wow" sort of way. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here's a pic of my old Intense, I wish I'd never sold it on now, used to get comments every time I was out on it. I think it was painted in the US.

Those flames are pretty subtle. Nice though.
The only reason to get rid of either of my two current bikes is if I really can't squeeze another bike in the shed. I know they'll outdate, but I'd still rather hang on to them. I'm still really pleased with both builds.

Custom everything.
Gold lacquer 'paintjob', custom geometry, custom parts. Carbon, weighs about 15.2lb with those wheels so just inside UCI weight limit. It'll go a lot less with carbon bars and Zipp wheels!

skidsareforkids. Custom painted sus forks make a lot of difference to the overall look. I might have to look into that too.
Is there anything unusual to consider when doing forks? If magnesium lowers, do they cause problems?
