I've finally accepted that my XL (57) Planet X Sportive isn't big enough for me. Please show me your 60cm plus sized road bikes for a bit of inspiration and to convince me that they don't gop. ๐Ÿ˜€

I'm 6'4" and my current frame is a 57. It's just a bit too head down for comfort on a long ride, even with some rise in the stem and a long steerer. I'm already upsetting the local style police.

That KHS really is proper fugly but I don't think that you can make bikes that big without them looking like that unless you use bigger wheels (new niche for the tryhards? ๐Ÿ™‚ )

I think mine look alright, particularly the Bianchi. YMMV

Here's my 60cm Bianchi

My 62cm Trek

And my 60cm CX bike (which doubles as a winter road bike)

Clubber, How did you fit the rear disc to your frame as I recall it wasn't disc ready?

A2Z disc adaptor:

Works well but it's not particularly light.

Ohh that's nifty, having hefted your CX bike at the LVIS audax last year it's not really a light weight project anyway is it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

the thing is, bikes look like bikes once you're riding them. just get one, ride it, enjoy it. nobody really cares what it looks like except people on here with too much time on their hands...

61cm Tricross Comp here, quite surprised I can't find any pics of it. Doesn't look that odd though, if anything the fact it doesn't have half a mile of seatpost sticking out makes it look more normal than the big mountain bikes. I'll dig one out later.

Evidently FAIL

Some of the fastest, best riders I know are also huge bike tarts. ๐Ÿ˜‰

KT - indeed - it's suprisingly heavy. When I get back to a passable level of fitness, I'll get a better/lighter bike. Until then, I think its weight is the least of my problems...

Thanks guys. Some nice looking bikes, and one or two slightly strange ones. So, as a rule of thumb, bikes look better when the head tube is shorter than the fork legs.

Yes, I'm a bit of a bike tart, but function just about rules over form. The Bianchi does look particularly nice Clubber.

I am the same size as TooTall and ride a 66cm Canyon Roadlite which i think looks ok.

TooTall's 72cm Purple Nasty is a bike that only it's mother could love. I think i'd actually walk rather than ride it! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I swapped from a 63cm Trek last year (it's the one up the top as i sold it to Clubber) as it was probably a tad too small for me. Now tainted with some nasty Campag stuff..... ๐Ÿ™‚

As mentioned though, once a bike gets to a certain size it looks ungainly, be it road or 26"MTB (but i also think small 29ers look wrong as well but the bigger ones look in proportion). I find my bikes look far better in the flesh than they do on photos.

I'm going to ride it again in a couple of weeks MrTall - first time since last August as it's living at my inlaws! Really quite looking forward to it ๐Ÿ™‚

I love TooTall's bike. Doesn't matter what bike you've got next to it, you're not going to pay the other one any attention. It's also completely unnickable.

Worth a look perhaps, even if it is a crossbike.
