Today saw the blooding of the evo in the peaks. Down such illustrious descents as Hagg Farm, Blackley Hey and Lockerbrook. I am pleased to say the bike was brilliant, me, less so after three weeks out of the saddle. However, fitness woes aside, the bike handled magnificently on the fast and rocky stuff. The 'steel feel' Is definitely there after riding alu hardtails for the last seven and a half years, in fact, if the 456 is meant to be harsh, I am glad I got it as anything else may have been a bit noodly for me. I think on one getting rid of the big central pipe joining the seat stays to the seat tube may have livened things up.

If someone can tell me how to put pictures taken on an iPad onto here, then I'll let you have a peek.......

The slack head angle didn't cause me any problems climbing, mainly because I am so slow on the climbs, it makes no difference to me. But it did let me bulldozer the front into some fairly hefty rocks when my manualling skills let me down a couple of times, and it didn't throw me out of the front door. I actually probably ended up riding Lockerbrook almost as quick as I ever have, but on a brand new bike I am supposed to be getting used to!

Chuffed to bits.

dannyh - I think this page tells you what you need to know regarding uploading to flickr.

http://ipadinsight.com/ios-6/ios-6-and-ipad-image-uploads-working-nicely/

From there you just copy and paste the bb code into your post.

I genuinely cannot do this. I think i have uploaded to flickr, but what is a bb code?

Do i use the 'IMG' thingy at the top of the post?

Please don't laugh, I'm good at some things, honest.

Go to flickr. CLick on your picture. At the bottom right is a funny square and arrow logo. Click it. You can choose 'BB code' (Bulletin board), copy that code.
Come back to STW and simply paste it in the reply box.
Click 'Send Post' and be in teh awesomeness of tech.

I've tried this, but it doesn't seem to work. Plus I don't want my email address to appear in the link. But can't work out how to change it. Things like this scare me, I never know what I am doing, or what risks I am running!

My mum is more social media literate than me. And she's nearly seventy.

Your email address won't appear in the link...? Unless you have your email address as your flickr name...?

OK Danny, when you get the pop up box there are two round buttons at the bottom - make sure you tick the bb code one, not the HTML that you have at the moment.

How's that?

NB disclaimer for STW. I know the grass needed mowing and that the barbecue will rust if I leave it out!

Matt.

Does this mean you can access my photos on Flickr now?

Please forgive my ignorance.

I can see your two pictures, on your Flickr account, that are public.
I can, if I wanted, download them.
But that *could* be changed, if you so wanted.

Well, here are the other two photos I've taken.

I think it looks quite fetching in the red!
