Anyone riding a Primal Plus
Before I pull the trigger on a new frame, how have you found it, are you pleased with it. What size you riding, any pics to show off?
Any alternative under £300 Slack 29er's for 130mm forks that will also take 27+ wheels? I'm plus curious, may set up second set of wheels. I'd love a Stanton Sherpa, Pace RC129 or P7 but can't justify the cost. Ragley BigWig is an alternative but it's pretty heavy

Been looking at these too.
My other thoughts were nukeproof scout 275 , £350 inc headset I believe plus another 10% off with BC discount .
Not sure if the scout will take a 29 wheel but would be interested to know, I'd prefer to run 27+ most of the time so prefer the 275 over the 290.
I've been running a 2016 frame for over a year. Good, solid, versatile frames, 3" tyres fit nicely with mud room to spare. I'm running 140mm McQueen's which suit it nicely. I've ridden everything from local Bridleway's to the Peaks and Black Mountains without finding its limits, it's much better than I am.
Never felt the need to run 29" as it's so good in plus mode.
It looks like they've discontinued the Plus variation for 2018 with most of their hardtail's now being Plus compatible. However I think they all now max out at 2.8" so if you're after 3" compatibility (which you should be IMHO) be quick and get a 2017 Plus frame while they're still about. Having said that the new Hornet does look really good.
Nordest Bardino is an alternative option which I really like the look of, I just can't find a good reason to swap from the Primal, other than new bike lust of course.
Can't say anything about the Primal 27.5 +
Had the "normal" Primal 27.5 for a short time. Wasn't too convinced of the bike - and spec wasn't right. According to the spec I should have been able to fit 2.4 inch rubber on the rear. No idea which tires they had in mind. But Mountain Bike King II 2.4 didn't fit at all...
Know people biking the Hornet. They have big, big love for the Hornet.
Primal: wasn't the bike for me.

Completely different frame.
Bigwig was about 350 in crc sale pre bc discount. Would opt for that just because it reviews better and is steel
Primal ‘normal’ 27.5 here.
Love it. Nicely constructed frame. Came from a 45650b that cracked (I never really gelled with that frame). The Primal is light and sharp in contrast to the 45650b.
I agree that the tyre clearance at the back is not capable of taking a 2.4 tyre. 2.25 smorgasbord is perfect in there. Anything bigger either buzzes the frame under compression, or has only dust clearance.
The Primal is my workhorse bike (I’ve got a V2 Bossnut for big days out). It gets ridden twice a week in all sorts of weather and filth.
I've got a Primal plus and until yesterday it was built up around 2.8 NN tyres and a 150mm X fusion Sweep fork.
Rode very well, especially at trail centres and climbed like a goat if I had the energy.
Stuck for pictures at the mo but will get one up soon.
Mine is a large frame and I'm 6 foot with shortish legs. With a 35mm stem and 760mm bars it fit well.
Yesterday it was stripped to build up a NS Snabb Plus. Not because there was anything wrong with the Datmoor, more something wrong with me as I can't resist building and playing with bikes.
It will be built back up again eventually as the Snabb will be upped to 29" wheels later in the year.
