Not a full replacement but a major reconstruction in November. An innocuous fall with a posterior dislocation and broken humerus. 4 weeks in a brace and it set wrong, so a big op to chop it all up and rebuild, with various metalwork.

A huge amount of home and private physio and still an hour every day through lockdown. I have been road and gravel riding since early May, and some easy MTB on local trails now. It’ll never be as it was though I think it may get good enough for general xc riding for the 54 yr old me.

Limiting a bit in daily life as range of free movement isn’t great and it hurts all the time.

On the plus, I have been able to sleep on my left side last few weeks, 8 months post surgery..
