I suffer from a pain in the neck (literally) when riding my bike, thought it might be cos my bars are too low but brought them up by 24mm with a different stem but still getting the pain. Thought it could be the helmet but thats a light enough Hex so dont think its that. I currently run FSA KForce bars which are 640mm wide, could it be these that are causing the pain? Should i try wider bars?

Often this is caused by leaning on locked arms when just riding along, in my experience. As opposed to dropping your shoulders and elbows and just resting your hands on the bars. Could that be it?

Could be a whole load of other causes - I doubt wider bars alone will sort it.

ditto cynic-al. FWIW, I find overly wide bars make my arms/neck hurt...

I would say poss you are streatched out too far and thus you have to arch your neck back too much to see ahead. Perhaps your frame is too long or you stem is too long - poss try deeper drops - longer bars would bring you even more forward unless they have a bigger sweeep? Dunno I know nothing ๐Ÿ˜‰
