Momentarily ignoring the "ideal number of bikes = n+1 where n = current number of bikes" and trying to bring reality into the conversation.

Other bikes are a bmx, giant trance (with 100mm rear/130mm front), marin quake.

I live in cheltenham and plan to visit redhill 4x and dirt jumps at least once a month along with a trip to the forest of dean on the same day (some times take only the blender, other times both the quake and the blender). I'd also plan to use it weekly for short blasts up and mainly down cleeve and leckhampton hills - essentially "ragging in the woods" style riding.

Most xc and definitely longer xc trails including trail centres would be done on the giant trance. Which I guess would be ridden one evening and one weekend day.

Have ridden the trance just fine on the 4x track but don't want to play on the dirt jumps too much in case things go wrong and the frame can't handle it.
Haven't used my bmx on the dirt jumps there as I question my stability on the big higher speed jumps.

£500 second hand is the price I'd be looking to pay.

Am I being silly and can the trance/bmx combo handle the mix of 4x/ragging/light dh and dirt jumping just fine?

These are the things telling me to buy it:

Yes. They're bloody awesome. Although I would say have a small test before you buy as it has slightly quicker steering than you'd expect. Wish I still had mine now.
