Is it safe to shot or sand blast an aluminium frame? Around 20yrs ago I used to work in an engineering shop and they were always going on about heat waste when they were shotblasting thin metal.

Does it wreck frames or is it safe to do it? I am looking at getting a rock lobster tig team sl stripped and repainted/powder coated.

Powdercoating would be worse I think than heat from shotblasting, it's mainly done only on Steel frames (there's a picture of a giant reign somewhere with a very slack head from powdercoating).

Get them to shotbalst with walnut shells or some other "gentle" material?

You could just use Nitromors
