Full waterproof ones are a bit boil in the bag for me and I hate getting a cold bum from rear wheel spray at this time of the year I have been running Endura spray and they have been good and wondering if there is anything better ?
What are you running ??
Cheers Si
Endura Spray also. Happy with them but I'll follow to find out what the alternatives are.
Madison Zenith DWR, I have a pair of endura waterproof shorts as well and they've never been out of the draw since I got the Madison's
I'm running a mudhugger 🙂

+1 for Madison Zenith. Good fit, nice strong build quality 👍🏼
Are the Zeniths better than the Addicts ? which I am on at the moment on and off but are leaking a bit around the bum area , maybe need a re-proof but never had great sucess with.
Mudhugger ok on a low seat stay 29er ? they look a tad short , maybe with a extension they would do the trick.
Zenith here too, survived a days wet riding at inners today, manky!
Great shorts.
I'm one ride into a pair of Mavic H2O seem to be good, a bit odd at first as they are overshorts and hence you need inners inside (ooh er) but once you get over the initial nyloniness (made up word but hopes you'll get it) they've been good and didn't need a second mortgage like Endura ones I had before but you do need to shop around to get a good deal.

Altura have a set that are decent but tbh I only wear them for wet summer rides- the tenn waterproof and Altura Attack waterproofs are both fine for me despite being full waterproof, not boily at all.
Get a hugger!
I like the Madison's as well, I've got two pairs, one of which is dying from 3/4 years use. Unfortunately they've changed the sizing and the smalls are just to small and the mediums are massive!
I've got the softshell addicts. There good but not waterproof. Warm tho.
The dwr ones I couldn't get more than 6 months from. I ride in a lot if mud
Got some Specialized ones, they are actually not that bad (and they were only £20 in a 75% off sale).
I have a crudcatcher on the front and a zefal deflector on the back, but when it's grim in the winter I'll often wear waterproof shorts as well (i.e. in storm deirdre about 8 days above), I use the madison zeniths as well, considering their non waterproof pockets they're surprisingly good, I rarely get sweaty in them. I've worn them for quite a few weekends of bikepacking and they've been great
I’m liking my Madison DTE soft shell shorts so far, waterproof bum and inside of legs.
A find a good soaking of Fabsil on normal Shorts helps. If it’s monumentaly Monsoonic I do have some cut-off ex-army goretex but the backs are cut too low. But tbh, I’d rather have Lycra when it’s that wet, the cold I don’t mind but sweating / rubbing from nylon et al is not my thing.
[yes, I said the ‘L’ word]
