Having shortened hoses on magura and hope brakes and not needed to bleed them was wondering if avids are the same? these are brand new unfitted
juicy 5's.
Also wondering if magura barbs and olive's will work on the avid hose?

You'll be lucky, most of them need bleeding straight from the factory.You'll need an avid bleed kit which comes with dedicated barbs and olives.
and costs 1 meeeeelion pounds - mwa ha ha

gamo - did you manage it without needing to bleed them afterwards?
I did mine without needing to bleed, just undo gently at the master cylinders end and cut carefully, very carefully 🙂

can be done, same as any other hydraulic system
You rarely need to bleed Juicys after shortening, and the barbs are often threaded so you can just undo them, check if it's got a v small torx head when you take the hose off.
