Ive seen last weeks thread about cutting them but unsure of procedure re subsequent reinstallation of olives / threaded nut; do you have to cut back to the plastic inner sheath (referring to Hope hoses) to get olive properly sealed, how does process differ from the std hoses? Step by step instructions would be most appreciated to avoid LBS costs for something Im sure I can fix myself! given how to do it

Hope system needs the plastic sheath cut back to slide the olive on (older 6mm hose systems didn't, but suffered hoses pulling out), i'd suggest using new olives rather than spreading the old ones, as they seem to go on a little easier(read as less of a tw*t to get over the almost inevitably splayed braid). You may also need the alternative stainless sleeve with two flats if yours has a hex fitting as these have a smaller i.d. that won't go over the sheath.
cheers, thanks for that>>> job done now, took about 15min and plastic sheath came off quite easily----don`t even really need to bleed system either as no fluid lost and lever maintains good solid feel ๐ ๐
