Just finished lashing this together from random bits to try a short stem wide bars hardtail after riding a Fuel for some time:

Have to say it looks and feels a bit odd (straightish bars feel low for a start), although I've only ridden around the park for 10mins, will give it a few proper rides but does this look along the right lines and what should I be expecting from this new-fangled setup?

Cheers

your shed roof has fallen off.

hth.

[edit] get rid of the mudguard and that would look really lovely. Steel hardtails always look so *right*

Yep mud guard looks ridiculous. Inner tube job to replace just try the bar stem combo

Just finished washing a dog egg off the front tyre so the mudguard has some function but know what you mean.

Thats the roof to my timber store! Shed/man-cave out of shot.

It won't protect your wood that way up, it needs to go on top..bike looks nice, ditch the mudguard (it's going to be hot and summer for the rest of July - apparently)
