[Closed] Shock Travel Question

Depends on various things,
clearance through the travel, such as does the rear wheel hit the seat tube at full travel with the 2.25" stroke shock on
won't affect geometry statically as eye to eye the same.
Also depends on which bike it is as to how the rear linkage, if any, works deep into the travel and the last .25" of the travel of the shock.

All abit 'vague news' but hope that gives you an idea

Edit 2.5" probably not a good idea
