[#11818737]

So just after a bit of advise

Ive been asked if I will ship a bike part to the states ,the money in my account side isnt the problem as if it doesnt clear its not being sent 🙂
It the shipping side , Am I right in thinking if I send it as a gift and keep the cost of the item low there is no need for a commercial invoice as its not a item thats been sold ? obviously proof of cost for insurance purposes if its damaged lost ect is required on my part.

If you mark it low value, that’s the value any shipping insurance would pay out.

Buyer understands that and is willing to take risk( email confirmation ) as goods are subject to import duty if higher value set

Given my recent experience of using UPS - don’t. Use DHL or Parcel Force instead. UPS seemingly don’t really know how to do logistics and my parcel was returned to me twice with no reason given. Fortunately I ended up being refunded because much like all communications they couldn’t be bothered to respond to the PayPal dispute. Am I still bitter - heck yes. Hours of my life wasted trying to resolve. DHL delivered within 24h.

Re: commercial invoice - you’ll want to fill this out correctly both for cover and to avoid your package being unnecessarily held up by customs state-side.
