im just about to order the xt brakes but before i do,will these brakes run with normal brake pads instead of the ice fin ones and normal rotors??
i have a 203 and a 160 on the back but its hayes brakes on the bike just now,

Yes, Shimano make non-finned pads for them, I have some and they work great.
I've also run them with Hope floating rotors, they worked ok but you need to be careful adjusting them because the rivets can catch on the caliper. Most other normal rotors should be fine I think.

cheers mintimperial.after all the hummin and hawin i missed the boat,ended up getting the xt m780's from merlin instead for 63 an end,just hope they are good...
