[#3358428]

I've got a pair of old LX M585 brake levers paired to M595 calipers and my be getting a second-hand set of XT M775 levers. The levers come without fittings and if I go for them I think that I'll be fitting new olives and inserts just to be on the safe side. However I'll need to find some shroud nuts; can I use the ones fitted to my 585 levers?

CRC have packs of shroud nuts and olives/inserts combined, so I'm assuming they're interchangeable like the olive & inserts but I think it's worth asking just to be sure.

They should fit, not much point swapping the olives etc. though, unless something's damaged.

Cheers.

I'd always assumed that olives were 'use once' items, and you can't get the olive off withough cutting away the hose/insert.

Sort of correct, you can't remove them from the hose, but you won't need to as it comes out and goes back in as a complete assembly(will probably be very tight, and need a good wiggling to get it out from the lever).
